How it works

From quote to kids playing in three steps.

1. Get your quote in a minute

Choose the height and quantity and your numbered PDF quote arrives straight away, with our ABN and the total shown, ready to hand to your business manager.

2. Order the way your school does

Send a purchase order, or pay by card or bank transfer. Schools get 30-day payment terms. Delivery is typically 5 to 10 business days from dispatch.

3. Build it in most of a day

Two people, a local timber order and our printed instructions are all it takes. Your maintenance team or a local tradesperson bolts our brackets to the timber.

Why a bracket kit

Nothing to run into. Stronger where it matters.

A corner built with bulky posts and stacked plates, crossed out, next to a single galvanised steel bracket on a clean corner, ticked

No posts sticking out

Many pits have bulky timber uprights around the outside. With students running at full speed, those are something to hit. Ours has none, so the walls stay clean and flat all the way round.

Stronger corners

A solid galvanised steel bracket wraps every corner, full height, so the steel carries the load. That is a far stronger joint than timber screwed together with angled screws, or uprights screwed across the corner.

Choose the wall height

Pick the wall height for your students.

Both kits use the same bracket design, hardware and instructions (the 80 cm bracket is 200 mm taller), with free delivery Australia-wide.

Made by someone who gets schools

Designed by a father and school teacher.

Older pits use upright posts that stick out. Ours use steel corner brackets instead, so the walls stay clear, the corners are far stronger, and the pit goes up quickly. I cut, fold and punch every bracket in Victoria, and I wrote the instructions and timber list for the people who build these: school maintenance staff and local tradespeople.

Why it suits a school site

Plan a defined play space with confidence.

The regular octagon is approximately 5.8 m across, with eight sides of 2.4 m. Allow about 1.5 m of clear space around it for entry and movement, giving a useful planning allowance of roughly 9 m by 9 m overall.

The pit can be planned on grass, mulch, compacted gravel or synthetic grass when the site is level, prepared and assessed for local requirements. It does not need a permanent foundation. The school remains responsible for site approval and installation checks under its own policies.

80 cm | $549

For a taller wall

Four sleepers tall, using 32 x 2.4 m H4 treated pine sleepers. Choose it when the planned play area benefits from the taller wall.

60 cm | $499

For a lower wall

Three sleepers tall, using 24 x 2.4 m H4 treated pine sleepers. Choose it when a lower profile suits the location.

Included

Organisation FAQ

Questions buyers ask first.

How much space does the pit need?

The standard octagon is approximately 5.8 m across. Allow at least 1.5 m of clear space around the pit for entry and exit; an overall planning allowance of about 9 m by 9 m is useful. Confirm the final layout against your site, access routes and local requirements.

How much timber should we budget for?

The 80 cm build uses approximately 32 treated-pine sleepers and the 60 cm build uses approximately 24. Timber is purchased locally, so the final amount depends on your supplier, timber specification and current local pricing.

What is included in the kit?

Both kit sizes include 8 galvanised steel corner brackets, galvanised bolts and hardware, printed build instructions and a timber shopping list. Timber, surfacing, tools, installation labour and a ball are not included. Delivery of the kit is free Australia-wide.

How long does the build take?

Allow most of a day for two people. That allowance covers setting out, site preparation, cutting, drilling, bolting and final checks. The actual time depends on the site, timber and team.

What safety and edge checks should we make?

The organisation is responsible for assessing the site, preparing a stable base, following the build instructions, tightening and checking the hardware, and removing splinters or sharp exposed edges. If the site or installation needs specialist advice, engage a suitably qualified local tradesperson.

Can the pit sit on grass, mulch or synthetic grass?

Potentially, yes. Grass, mulch, compacted gravel and synthetic grass can all be suitable when the area is assessed and prepared appropriately. The site should be level, drained and free of trip hazards, with clear space around the pit. The buyer must confirm suitability for the particular location.

Can we buy by purchase order?

Yes. Request the instant numbered PDF quote, raise your purchase order, then use the button on your quote once it is approved to get your invoice and enter the PO number. You can also email the PO to stewart@gagapitkits.com.au. The invoice is dated that day and uses 30-day terms. Payment by bank transfer or card online is also available.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is free Australia-wide. The usual transit time is 5–10 business days from dispatch, with tracking supplied after dispatch. Timing can vary by location and courier network.

Who can order, and what warranty applies?

The kits are for schools, camps, churches and youth groups, sports clubs, councils and community groups. Warranty and returns information is available on the Warranty & Returns page. Please contact the team before returning anything.
