What you need
Supplied in the kit: 8 galvanised steel corner supports, hex bolts, and the build guide with timber list.
From your local supplier: treated pine timber (see the shopping list) and a firm, level surface to build on.
- Drill and bit to suit the supplied hex bolts
- Socket and ratchet set
- Level and tape measure
- Saw
- Shovel
- Work gloves and safety glasses
Build overview
- Prepare a firm, level site.
- Set out the octagon.
- Test-fit the timber and follow the supplied guide for corner and entry details.
- Position the eight full-height steel corner supports.
- Fix the timber rows using the supplied hex bolts and the guide’s drilling instructions.
Each timber row is 200 mm high, so 3 rows give 60 cm and 4 rows give 80 cm. - Smooth the timber edges and complete the guide’s final checks.
Before you open the pit, check the site, timber and local requirements as part of your normal project process.
